My first introduction to photography was when I was a small
child growing up in New Jersey. My grandmother would take me on
a road trip and let me take pictures with her old Kodak Brownie.
I remember the excitement of being able to capture a picture with
film and the impatience of waiting for the images to come back
from the lab. Ever since I have been hooked! The majority of my
life photography was a creative outlet with minimal formal
training and tons of hands on experience, which was later
perfected through college level classes, apprenticeships, then
work experience. Officially my career as a photographer didn’t
begin until I finished my field studies in Nepal and India with
the University of Wisconsin in 2001. I majored in Anthropology
and minored in photography while I spent a year living and
traveling through the Himalayas documenting many different
aspects of life. Shortly after my diverse interests and zest
for life fostered my career by bringing a subject medium to
focus as a documentary photographer and I began to hone my craft
with the aid of a veteran photographer in Katmandu Valley by the
name of Mani Lama. My natural talent as an artist and the varied
photographic skills I have acquired over the years combined with
my personal approach to how I do business with every client has
allowed me to work as a successful freelance artist. I have had
the honor of being published several times and have completed a
diverse style of imaging work for many clients ranging from;
weddings and events, in water shots of surfing and sports, stock
and commercial photography, and on-site portraits. Whether you
wish to capture a special moment in time or need images for a
catalog and advertisement I take pride knowing that I can assist
you with my expertise.
